Click here to view an interactive map created by Harvard University that allows you to view house price trends in your market. The interesting thing about the chart is that it allows you to view the trends from two perspectives.
The first tab shows you the price differences since the year 2000, which indicates that most parts of the country experienced prices increases during the past 17-year timeframe.
The second tab shows you the prices differences since the peak of the local market which may have occurred sometime between 2005 and 2008. This perspective seems to indicate that most parts of the country still have not reached their peak levels, which means that there may be more room for home prices to increase.
